THRU THE BIBLE:”Get behind me Satan” Matthew 16:21-28

2Corinthians 2:11 GWT

I don't want Satan to outwit us. After all, we are not ignorant about Satan's scheming.

2 Corinthians 2:11 AMPC

“To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions.”

2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“…the devil took (Jesus) Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then the devil left Him…”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

There is no crown without a cross

No Messiah without suffering

No Christ kingdom without sacrifice

No Christian without a cross to carry

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭30‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him…”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬-‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,”

Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭4‬:‭24‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And it came to pass on the way, at the encampment, that the Lord met him and sought to kill him. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it at Moses’ feet, and said, “Surely you are a husband of blood to me!” So He let him go. Then she said, “You are a husband of blood!”—because of the circumcision.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭43‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭14‬:‭34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭22‬-‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
